It’s a huge dance sensation and a sea of white! Just a few days left until one of the high points in the global clubbing calendar hits Prague on 19 May 2012 – SENSATION! The event will be held at the Sazka Arena.
This huge phenomenon started in Amsterdam in 2000, at the Amsterdam Arena, home of Ajax Football Club, and a year later Sensation turned its trademark white, now a symbol of the event. Miles Stutterheim, the brother of Sensation CEO Duncan Stutterheim, tragically died in a car crash, and Duncan Stutterheim asked clubbers to wear white at Sensation, as mourners did at his brother’s funeral. The majority of the 40,000 attendees complied with his wishes, and today participants continue to wear white at Sensation.
The event has become hugely successful, attracting globally famous DJs who take part in an 8-hour extravaganza of sights and sounds. Clubbers can look forward to stage shows with acrobats, dancers, lasers, lightshows, fireworks and much more. The famous Megamix is regarded by many clubbers as the high point of Sensation, a journey taking them through musical history, accompanied by a show and fireworks. Each year, Sensation has a different theme, and each show is unique.
Some of the best DJs in the world have played at Sensation and helped to create the event’s unique atmosphere. They include Tiësto, Sven Vath, Armin van Buuren, Carl Cox, David Guetta, Richie Hawtin, Axwell, Fedde le Grand, Steve Angelo, Sebastian Ingrosso and Erick Morillo. Many of them say that Sensation has been a highlight in their careers.
Sensation has gone truly global and takes place in every corner of the planet, from Brazil to Belgium. This year, Sensation is being held in Asia for the first time, in South Korea.
