Miloš Zeman vs Karel Schwarzenberg
Czech nation has showed its bipolarity in political opinions today. Votes counting of the first direct presidential elections in the country ended just few minutes ago. The results are very close.
According to political scientists and social researches voters has divided mainly by generations. Younger generation and people with higher education voted mostly for Karel Schwarzenberg who has very modern campaign on social media. Also big cities and Czechs voting from abroad gave in majority their vote to Karel. But generally euro sceptic and socially thinking Czechs from countryside eventually chose Miloš Zeman who was focusing on social stability and Czech national identity in the country (in the controversial manner) to be their new president.
The first direct elections had 58,93 % participation in Czech Republic.
Bohemia Apartments Prague congratulate both candidates for their surprisingly balanced duel and wish Miloš Zeman a pleasant stay in beautiful Prague Castle.
