The upcoming American band Beirut comes to KC Vltavská on Sunday, August 15 to play their exotic combination of Balkan rhythms, indie rock and world music.

It was while travelling through Eastern Europe in his adolescent years that multi-instrumentalist and band leader Zach Condon found inspiration and, with a healthy dose of gypsy rhythms and Balkan soul, Beirut's 2006 debut album Gulag Orkestar was the outcome.

You name it, Beirut plays it: Ukulele, mandolin, cello, saxophone and flugelhorn are just some of the instruments the band makes use of.
