Tonight, on 31st March 2012, more than 5251 cities and towns across the world, including Prague and other Czech cities, will be joining WWF, to switch off lights in their homes, apartments, work offices for one hour.
Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Asia Pacific to Europe and Africa to the Americas switched off. People across the world from all walks of life turned off their lights and came together in celebration and contemplation of the one thing we all have in common – our planet. Prague for the first time joined the event in 2010 and soon was followed by other Czech cities.
We, members of the Bohemia Apartments Prague team are going to join the event by switching the lights in our office and our homes and to go for a walk around the Prague City centre, to see if something happens with the iconic buildings and private apartments here. Which building in Prague you think should be switched off as a symbol of this event?
